I guess Bohls doesn't think that Johnny "Look At Me, Look At Me" Manziel, the casino hopping, front row sitting, studly, star of "Dude Perfect", will have a sophomore slump next year.

Of course, preseason No. 1 AND $5 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

Bohls is almost as much of an aggy homer as Brent Zwerneman is at the San Antonio AgPress-News.

The show off nature of his personality will come back to haunt him. Every opponent nest year will be out to make him a "long shot". If I was a player on a team that played him next year I would be rubbed pretty raw by all that superman crap. If there is a record for late hits received by a qb he will break it next year. Johnny Meatball will be his new title by mid season.

Typical Bohls. He wouldn't vote Vince Young #1 for the Heisman, but he will vote aggy #1. He's a total asswipe.

Johnny Reporter (aka Johnny Idiot) also says Sam Houston State helps aggy strength of schedule -- which only by SEC standards is true,

It's sickening that the Incredible Shrinking Statesman continues to employ this pompous
windbag. But then, that might be one contributing factor to the Shrinking part.

Aggy will be top 5 in every poll pre-season. I would love for them to be pre-season number one and have that bullseye on them from day one. Best guess right now, they will lose two games next year and be right back in the Cotton Bowl after a third place finish in the SEC West.

We should have kept playing them on Turkey Day. They would have mudholed us last year, but traditionally we've kept them beaten down and have spoiled a MNC or two for them in the past.

If Manziel stays healthy next season (a big if), I think aggy wins it all. But then they'll lose both their quarterback and head coach to the NFL, and resume being what they've always been.

The last MNC goes thru Austin this year.

    FYI

Sam Houston State is not the same SHSU team Texas played several years ago. They have played in their NCAA division national championship games the last 2 years. Compared to some of the creampuffs many teams play (SEC in particular), SHSU does increase SOS.

Bohls is not only an *** but he is lazy.

He has figured out he can get more attention by "kicking the bear" that is Longhorn Fans, rather than doing the hard work of creative investigative reporting. Hence anytime he can belittle the Horns and glorify their enemies he get's what he wants....outrage and anger from Horn fans. Screw Bohls.

Manziel proved a lot of people wrong this year including me.

Sumlin, to his credit, allowed Manziel to do his magic not only individually, but Johnny's ability to lifti his team (mostly the one that could not beat a questionable TEXAS team just a few months earlier) to play at their highest level and be successful. Credit given.

Next year will be much more difficult for them, not impossible, but still difficult.

See this years MNC game for evidence that Saban learned a hard lesson at home from aggy and he had his team ready for that type of game. No ND did not have a Manziel quality qb, but Bama will not play aggy again like this year, you will see a team like the one that played in Miami. That will be true of every opponent aggy faces, they now know what to prepare for.

That coupled with a Manziel that is in my view a little too proud of himself right now, and the constant over-the-top praise from everyone in the media, is destined either for an injury from an illegal hit of a jealous opponent, or mistakes by him trying to do too much to live up to the image. If I'm wrong and he can control that, he (and aggy as a team) will be tough to beat.

    Time will tell.

I don't agree with everything Bohls writes, but this is a legitimate pick.
Aggy earned these votes by beating Alabama and with the Cotton Bowl against OU.
I hope the pressure gets to Manzel and he sets a record for INTs next year.

Under either the current BCS or future Championship Series, games against FCS teams should count as a game played but not won. Effectively this would lower points in the current calculation and weaken the SOS in the future Championship series.

No matter how good Sam Houston (or any FCS team) appears to be against other FCS competition, a FBS team should not only not receive get any credit for playing them, the FBS school should be penalized for playing them.

They have an extremely soft schedule. They will easily end up top five.

Aggie will be back to being Aggie next year. You can count on that.

I will not read that article or any other in the Statesman as long as hacks like him are employed by them. As stated above he just tries to say something to rile people up so they pay attention to him. He is the equal to the 4 y.o. that picks his nose and eats his boogars for attention. He's small time for a reason.

If I were Bohls I'd be proud my ideas was subject of a thread on Hornfans. Bohls is irritating sometimes, but the last time I watched them the Aggies looked really good. There are too many things really wrong in this world to get worked up about who Bohls thinks is No. 1 in college football eight months before the season starts.

Aggy loses Joekel and their center (forget his name). their o-line let Manziel do much of what he did. Sure, they keep matthews, but their o-line will be inexperienced. There's no way aggy wins it all.

The O-Line's always get lost in the grand scheme of teams' success. Without our 2005 o-line, we lose to USC, maybe even Ohio State.

I don't know who comes back on their O-line, but their success depends a great deal on that. If they only lose one then they will be top three. If they lose two then they could play more tight games than they would want.

But Manziel, if he stays healthy, will run wild again. And his passing will get better, and he was not bad last year.

I really don't see how an objective person could pick them out of the top three.

Its damn hard to swallow how good the ags got so quickly.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see the ags in the MNC game this coming year. They are legitimately good.

After Alabama aggy may not play another team ranked in the Top 25 all year. Those SEC schedules are just soooo brutal.

"They moved to a weaker conference that preys on FCS teams."

    Viper,

They also beat Alabama on the road, and beat up a pretty good ou team. Sadly, they are legit.

If any team's success is going to put pressure on Athletic Department to make changes, its A&M.

So F it, ill be cheering for them. However, no way they beat Bama 2 years in a row and highly doubt they will win in Tiger stadium.
