Burn-in an issue for LCDs too?

Just bought a new 52" LCD. the owner's manual has a warning in there about burn-in with logos on the screens and all that stuff.

I'm thinking WTF? I specifically avoided plasma to avoid this issue, and now I find out that LCDs also have a problem with burn-in?

I thought LCDs were immune to this issue?

manufacturer's will always cover their asses in the manuals. I have two lcds and never have had anything close to that problem.

No, its not even an issue with newer plasmas if you respect teh 100h breakin period. I play 360 on mine all the time and have a HTPC hooked up to it that spends a fair amount of time as a browser with stagnant logos. HAve never seen an prolonged burnin.

Burn-in is no longer a problem with plasma or lcd displays. Image retention may happen but is easily remedied. Mfrs. put this in their manual to protect themselves. I would return and buy the plasma.
