This is a political football, plain and simple. Obama most definitely turned it down, and now his staff is trying to re-write his words just a few weeks later. I'm not quite sure of the number, but there are literally tens of thousands of miles of pipeline criss-crossing the country, but for some reason, the WH assumes that this pipeline is going to be the ONLY one that could cause harm to the environment. Putting the environmental argument aside, how does Carney think that nobody is going to notice his double-speak/mis-truth that he threw out to the media? It's much easier for me to respect someone's opinion when they tell the truth and stick to their word, no matter if I agree with it or not.
I really have a hard time even understanding the point of these press briefings. Essentially these clowns are hired to lie.
