Still some questions on Strong as to whether everyone is getting a fair shot, or whether he is running some kind of social agenda with his own prejudices and biases. The outcome of that question may not have been completely decided, yet, but it doesn't look very good at this point--it just doesn't.
Mike Perrin was talking last night on Craig Way's show about how he wanted to bring back the multiple generations of families to the Longhorn games, etc.. A lot of Longhorns are going to look at themselves in the mirror and wonder whether they would get a fair shot with Charlie if their dad didn't have a personal relationship with one of the coaches (Haines), or didn't previously play for the Longhorns (Hager, and I think part of our last senior class to finish with two straight losing seasons, by the way). If you don't have those in's and don't play a grunt, non-athletic postion, it looks like you just might not get a shot with Charlie if you look like most Longhorns, lol.
Wouldn't surprise me at all if natural Defensive End (not Defensive Tackle or offensive lineman, lol) McMillon and big, reliable, extremely high performing high school receivers Garrett Gray and Jake Oliver transfer after this season, if some miracle doesn't strike and they get a chance to show what they can do in the next few games.
Also wouldn't surprise me if we lose tomorrow or in one or more of the following games because players like Omenihu and the other defensive ends, along with a lot of the really short and really rather unreliable and undependable receivers currently playing just aren't good enough, even though they are playing ahead of guys who would almost certainly be better options to put in there and try to win with.
Tradition, Charlie? Or Vance? Kind of comes across as you guys talking out of the sides of your mouth at this point, guys--sorry, but it just does.
Kind of puts a pallor over the whole thing, also--just does that, too, unfortunately, and that's just the way that it is.
