So, he's ashamed that we're not coddling our brutal dictator of an "ally" in his time of need? Why isn't he ashamed that we coddled him for the past 30 years?
Oh right, sorry. I forgot that intervention is always the answer. Even if it means supporting a brutal regime characterized by sham elections, imprisoning of political opponents, socialism, state control of the media, kidnapping/torture, an enriched elite, and human rights abuses. Even if it means buying them off with upwards of $2 billion of money we don't have each year in "foreign aid" so they can arm themselves and even use some of those "Made in America" arms against their own people. My bad. Like Matthews says, we should totally stay friends.
