Does anyone here know where we can get some coins appraised in Houston? Losthubby received a large part of his dad's coin collection and he wants to get them appraised. An cursory internet search shows that some are of significant value, but he would like to get the whole collection appraised. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
his best bet would be to call some coin shops and ask who does appraisals in the area for a fee. he could also have a shop send the coins out to one of the national coin grading services to be graded and slabbed (if not already done) but this can get pricey. Coin values are dependent on what they are graded at. a MS-58 coin could be worth half the value of a MS-65 coin but at that level the grading scale gets pretty darn picky and two different graders can assign much different grades to the same coin. good luck
