my Mom used to bake ham in coca-cola. always turned out really well. But I don't know the specific recipe.
Here's one for a steak I saw on Bobby Flay throwdown. www.commandofthegrill.com/winner_recipes.html It came out great.
I tried Dr. Pepper as a marinade for skirt steak once, but all it did was produce lots of Dr. Pepper scented smoke and some not very tasty meat. Coke I don't know about, though.
Coke is used in a lot of Chinese recipes. A Chinaman once told me that they use it for the sugar - the sugar tenderizes the meat. I've used soy and coke for some baked chicken - not bad.
I'm not saying the pork and coke thing is legit but that Snopes thing doesn't conclusively debunk the theory. They may have been lucky and bought a piece of pork without any parasites. I know that trichinosis, which is caused by worms, is not an urban legend. Whether coke stimulates worms or their larvae, I don't know.
The legend is that coke will cause worms to come out of pork. Not the .000001% of pork that has Trichinella. Any pork. Snopes does a good job of explaining why urban legends are believable. If you choose to pour coke on your pork, more power to you.
