FYI, P. Terry's is coming to the South Austin/Oak Hill area. The delicious hamburger joint will be taking over Long John Silver's lease/building on William Cannon/Mopac. Also for us South Austinites, Alamo Drafthouse is building a theater at Mopac/Slaughter.
I went. Had the 1/2 with cheese and mustard and a soft drink. Took a buddy of mine who has never been. He had fries too. He really really liked it. This will be on my regular bi-monthly rotation.
Gardere Owns-- despite living about half a mile from that Taco Bueno, I have never eaten it. I told this to some friends of mine from Dallas and they were shocked. For someone who has never had TB, what are the go-to items I should start out with?
to me TC > TB....Much better and a better bargain. I live closer to the TB off Mopac/ Slaughter and still drive to the Taco Cabana if I'm in the mood for cheap mexican food.
"I live closer to the TB off Mopac/ Slaughter and still drive to the Taco Cabana if I'm in the mood for cheap mexican food." For about the same price as TC you can get some pretty decent tex mex at Chapala's Taqueria over on 290 where Rockies used to be. "Ok, I had no idea a LJS was ever there." Neither did anyone else apparently. It was a A&W / LJS just west of Randall's. I was hoping for a Popeyes at that location.
bueno is where bell and cabana come together. bueno is more bell like than cabana. bueno has better food in my humble opinion and more to choose from than bell does. try any of their chilada platters. that **** is amazing.
Can someone explain why people like P. Terry's so much? I've tried their cheese burger and fries twice and both times walked away thinking it was all very average.
Gak, I don't know if I would ever want to know the results of a health inspection report at any Taquerias.................... or Habaneros.
P-Terry's...The same one that stole Hill-Bert's lease? Meh. Between Mighty Fine and Hut's I don't have any time left for PT's. We need some real restaurants in South Austin.
Torchy's Tacos coming next week...across from P. Terry's on William Cannon-- where WIlly O's used to be.
