Rumor going around that USC & UCLA will be leaving the PAC?? for the Big 10 in 2024. No mention of Oregon, Stanford or the Arizona schools. That would definitely hurt the PAC’s footprint.

Geographically, BYU would be a good candidate to add if they weren’t already joining whatever’s left of the Big12. Would make travel in the Big10 a nightmare with schools from Maryland all the way to Southern California.

Out of the five power conferences, the Pac-12 is so far behind in television revenue and overall conference revenue it would not surprise me that USC and UCLA would join the Big Ten. That is the most natural conference for Pac-12 teams to defect to.

With Oklahoma and Texas incoming into SEC, the SEC has surpassed the Big Ten in fanbase size and will exceed the Big Ten in television revenue. Outside of Notre Dame, USC/UCLA and the Los Angeles market makes the most sense for the Big Ten. I suspect Big Ten is also considering Oregon and Washington.

This would force ACC teams to also look into defecting to the SEC and Big Ten, but ACC has a long term media grant of rights. Ultimately I see further consolidation in college football into 2 power conferences that may very much reflect the AFC/NFC set up in NFL.

Had Big 12 had known about this, I suspect they would not have accepted Houston, Cincinnati, and Central Florida, but added Arizona, Arizona State and whomever in the Pac-12.

USC and UCLA planning to join the Big Ten

Oh, please. The morons running the BigXII did the best they could with the limited brainpower they have.

Remember when Colorado jumped out of the Big 12 and into Pac-12 for fear Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech would insist on Pac-12 accepting Baylor instead of Colorado? Now Colorado may be begging to get back into Big 12.

In all honesty, Big 12 should welcome Colorado back.

We've all been first hand observers of how badly the Big12 has been run - really speaks volumes to the gross mismanagement of the PAC12 when the Big12 is the more 'sound' conference of the 2.

Any guesses as to what happens to Stanford during this shake-up? This game of musical chairs will likely have a negative effect on their sports programs.
