    Nice write up on TCU.
Note the reference to the Frogs never once making it to Omaha...
I think they're good, but not THAT good, this year.
They lost pitcher Cornholio, and shortstop Sacco from last year.
Brayden Taylor is being pumped up as a 1st team All-American. He's good all right, but we'll have bats that equal, or exceed, his this year.
    Nunez is good.

‘It’s time to get back there’: No. 15 TCU baseball's sights set on College World Series

"The Frogs also have an experienced group of veterans including centerfielder Elijah Nunez, a 2023 Big 12 Preseason First Team member, and third baseman Brayden Taylor, the 2023 Preseason Big 12 Player of the Year.

The preseason rankings reflected the offseason success, as the Horned Frogs are ranked No. 1 in the Big 12 Preseason poll and No. 15 in D1Baseball’s Preseason top 25."

Guess who's getting lots of love...

    :atm:

My usual snark for aggie things is tempered with regard to comments about this baseball team. This is a ballsy, scrappy team. They played an excellent 2nd half of the year, and scrapped their way into the CWS, going from irrelevance to one of the media's darlings.

In College Baseball Nation's preseason Field of 64 projections that comes a bit easy for the Aggies, as they project them to earn the No. 7 national seed and host a College Station Regional once again.

But at the end of the day, they're still aggies...

Tech loses A LOT of pitching.

"Texas Tech will be looking for returning sophomore catcher Hudson White to continue has great numbers from being named Freshman of the Year in the Big 12. Other top returnees are DH Ty Coleman (.318,8HR.59RBI), RHP Brendon Girton (3-0,4.08ERA, 18K, 7BB) and a host of others.

Newcomers include Kevin Bazzell from Dallas Bapist,1B Gavin Kash from Texas Univ., RHP Jack Washburn out of Ole Miss and INF Jake Dukart a transfer from Oregon State."

Tech desperately needed to portal in a good starting pitcher. Enter RHP Jack Washburn from Ole Miss.

By the way, I never understood the deep hatred a portion of our fan base has for this school/team.

College Baseball Countdown- #11-OKSt Cowboys - Baseball Spotlight

"As mentioned, McLean is back with his 100 mph fastball. He finished last year with 5 saves,4,97 ERA, 39K, 13BB and hit .285. Roggio batted .295, 11 HR, 14 doubles and drove in 47 runs. Watts-Brown is a transfer from Long Beach State where he was a Freshman All-American with a 4-4 record along with a 3.88 ERA, 111 K and 29 BB."

    Deep dive into TCU pitching:

    https://www.si.com/college/tcu/base...view-pitchers-starters-relievers-closers-2023

"One of the top transfers in the Big 12 comes to TCU from Kansas, junior Ryan Vanderhei. The former Jayhawk No. 2 starter posted a 5-6 record with a 6.46 ERA :rolleyes1::rolleyes1::rolleyes1::rolleyes1::rolleyes1::rolleyes1::rolleyes1::rolleyes1::rolleyes1::rolleyes1:......... and 83 strikeouts in 78 innings pitched."

But, this guy below is really good:

"Last season, Luke Savage topped TCU in ERA (2.72). Savage was a relief pitcher last year, but moves into a starting role this season. He threw 39.2 innings last year, where he struck out 35 batters and walked just 17; Savage also recorded two saves."

Frogs will win a lot of games by scoring a lot of runs. They put a lot of runners on base, and that usually results in plenty of runs. Overall, their pitching is pretty decent, but not as good as us or OSU, and maybe Tech. TCU's pitching stats don't come close to matching up with us or OSU. But this is a good overall team that should challenge for the conference title again.

And someone once told me that TCU has some pretty girls...

    Frogs with 3 errors.

TCU pitchers Savage and Whitaker both threw like crap.

TCU has been scoring a lot of points, but giving up a lot of points. Good batting, lousy pitching.

And Schloss got his feelings hurt that some old Aggie brought a newspaper to read while the dancing girls were doing their thing on top of the dugout and yelled “Swing the bat” at an Aggie player, and cried about it to the media! Too much fun…the Aggie on Aggie name calling & finger pointing usually starts after a bad in conference series, not during the super soft portion of the season.
