I’ve convinced myself to try and tackle some minor renovation on my own and have a couple basic questions.

Does sheetrock go on the ceiling before the walls, or visa versa?

When putting up crown molding: Is a brad nailer or a finish nailer preferable? I was thinking brad nailer and going with tons of brads, so I can avoid finding the studs. Will the sheetrock and ample brads be enough, or do I need to locate studs for every nail?

I know in commercial you want the walls up first, but residential they but together. It would be easier to get the walls up first and then cut ceilings to the walls (if they aren't completely straight).

Oh and given the chance to do drywall work on my house it is always something I would sub out. That and Tape/Float. There are too many people who can do it cheap and if you've ever tried it, it is something that is very easy to screw up. You don't want to look at crappy walls the rest of your time in that house. Sub it out.
