For the record, if I've not told you before, my mother was born in Lawton so I do have a soft-spot for that God forsaken place!

I went there a couple of times as a child. Don't have much memory of it. I spent some time in Ft. Cobb during my first marriage (in laws). It seems to me all we did was eat and talk about some neighbor that was dying. It was an old folks type of town. Been to Tulsa many times for work. Not the worst place I've ever been but downtown seems to have meth addicts roaming the street. It's a little scary. Oklahoma City is another city I've been too. Again, just for work. That was pretty much an airport, office, dinner out, hotel and airport in the morning for the return to God's Country (Texas) the next day.

I grew up about an hour south east of Tulsa so I was always critical of OKC until I lived there. It was a neat place and I prefer it to Tulsa.

I work with some folks who office just down the street from the McVea holocaust. They remember the blast. Crazy scary evil stuff.

Tulsa has a strip of bars/restaurants that seemed like a cool place to hang out.

Hey, any state that gave us J.J. Cale, Leon Russell, Vince Gill and Jimmy Webb has a place in my heart. I'll try to ignore Elizabeth Warren and Blake Shelton.

Yep. Of course, I used to live in Waco, so who the hell am I to judge?

Deez, are you saying Waco is the Oklahoma of Texas?

I've typically said it's the Mogadishu of Texas. However, since all of Oklahoma is basically like Mogadishu, calling it the Oklahoma of Texas would be pretty accurate as well.

Drive north from Texas to Oklahoma. Other than a river and some speed zone changes there is little difference. Texas has a stronger economy with Dallas, ftw, Houston, Austin. Sure. But northern Texas and southern Oklahoma are similar. As I’ve said before, it’s about arguing which of Pamela Anderson’s breasts are the best. And yes, that reference is as dated as John Blake’s wishbone.

The difference is all that stuff in Oklahoma is occupied by dirty land thieving cheaters.

    :ousucksnana:

Now, I don't feel so dirty.

There's a reason why the economy is stronger. It helps when people know how to read.

The employees in the Texas Dollar Generals probably have more of their teeth. Does that make them more "bougee?"

As much as we pile on OK, from the football rivalry, the true freakshow state around here in New Mexico.

Corrupt, poor, hugely stratified between the immense lower class and the Ruling Elite in their Albuquerque hilltop mansions who run the state, using the votes of the poor to keep themselves in power (in addition to being poor, they're dumb as well).

Add to that meth heads, illegals running across the state in droves, nuclear test sites, alien landings, and the state being run by Democrats, it's truly the **** hole of the Southwest.
