Deez you are on wrong side of airport. Head towards A terminal. The new wing (United) is very spacious and nice. Just opened 1-2 years ago.

@horninchicago , I notice that a lot of hot chicks in yoga pants hang around airports. I don't really have a point in saying that - just something I notice.

Charlotte has 3-4 breweries congregated in a small area in South Charlotte. Good stuff.

I am getting $600 a month between July and December because I have 4 kids. However I make too much money to get the extra child tax credit. So instead I am getting paid “early” up to 50% of my normal tax credit. However I will have to pay this back on April 15 cause I set my allowances such that I pay a little tax every year (unlike 95% of the population). People are going to be pissed next tax season when either their normal IRS check is zero or they owe money. Biden admin performed the switcheroo that many folks aren’t aware in their 3rd stimulus

Are the beers getting to me, or are these numbers messed up? Isn't it supposed to be 10, 11, 12, 13? What's with 10, 12, 13, 11?

If you say, "Deez, you're drunk and seeing this stuff backwards," that's fine. I won't take it personally. But I think I'm right on this one.

Odd numbers on one side and even numbers on the other. They merge at end of concourse due to a cul-de-sac.

After I received the first check I opted out. Both my wife and I had to do it to make it official. I worked for 4 months to get my excemptions to the right level for me and the tax credits would have meant I owed a lot at the end.

Same here but I was too lazy to exempt. I will pay out of my Feb bonus, which will be huge as we are killing it at work.

I re-watched the Dallas Buyers Club last week, and it was a shock, and almost subversive in its theme.

The FDA and that most holy of agencies, the CDC, were the bad guys in the film, peddling the most expensive and dangerous drugs the drug companies had to offer, while individuals, yes individuals!!!, looked at data and studies and made their own decision about what drugs and medicines to take.

No way the media - entertainment complex would make a movie like that now - if it was on TV instead of my hard drive, they'd probably have placed a warning label on it, as is now on on Gone With the Wind.

Something like: "This movie is fictitious and based on a point of time in the 80's when Ronald Reagan, that gay hater was in the White House, so the government was not doing the correct things. This should in no way reflect upon the current actions of the FDA or CDC, who now thankfully are only staffed with the best and brightest persons in the world, and we should all obey every directive they give - especially the ones that countermand previous directives".

Duck I brought up that movie to a Progressive friend of mine as an example of how the government takes away freedoms on the pretense of taking care of us.

Then I found a story where the FDA arrested an Amish man and sentenced him for 6 years for mixing up herbs and selling them in a farmers market.

Time to update the list of statements and directives from our Experts!!!:
    (new material in red)
    • The Wuhan virus is no big issue.
    • It may be an issue, but we'll deal with it the way we always have, and masks don't work.
    • OK we lied about masks, but only so you rubes don't go and buy them all. Now you must wear them at all times.
    • It's racialist to call the Wuhan the Wuhan, and you only must call it by its scientific name. The fact that China is pushing the same line is pure co-incidence.
    • The coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, China, couldn't possibly have come from the Coronavirus research lab in Wuhan, China, and to say otherwise is a wild conspiracy theory, which no less that Polifact called a Pants on Fire lie.
    • Shutdowns are the best and only way to combat the spread, and if you lose your business and life savings, the government will put you on welfare so you'll be OK. Meanwhile we don't lose our jobs, pensions, or a single retirement point.
    • Just Two Weeks to Slow the Spread!!!
    • 30 Days to Flatten the Curve!!!
    • There is a 10% outdoor transmission rate - wear your mask outside!
    • It's wrong and dangerous to protest against the shutdowns, you'll spread the virus and kill people.
    • It's OK to protest though for approved causes like the Burn Loot Movement - you won't spread the virus and it's very important to pack the streets and scream slogans at the top of your lungs.
    • But it's dangerous for churches to hold in-person ceremonies - you'll spread the virus.
    • OK maybe a bit more than 30 days to flatten the curve - like 16 months.
    • Actually, we were off a bit - there's only a 1% outdoor transmission rate, but on a log scale (which you rubes don't know anything about) it's not that big of a mistake.
    • It's not possible to create a vaccine by the end of the year, it'll take years, and President Trump's Operation Warp Speed is a joke.
    • The vaccine is is wonderful and all must take it, even those under 30 in good shape, and with a minuscule risk or virus effects.
    • You should still wear masks for ???? reasons.
    • This vaccine, developed in a year though we said that was impossible, and produced under emergency rules and with liability waivers to the manufactures, is perfectly safe.
    • OK maybe, maybe the coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, China, might have come from the Coronavirus research lab in Wuhan, China, we'll see which way the wind blows politically before we say anything else.
    • You must wear masks on all airplanes, even if you're vaccinated, unless you're an elected Democrat running away from your duties, in which case we won't talk about it.
    • You should get the vaccine, so you don't have to wear a mask and can go back to normal.
    • You should get the vaccine, but wear a mask anyway, even though there's no real world data to show they do anything.
    • You should wear two masks.
    • Parents should wear masks at home with their kids (!), so that they don't spread the Wuhan to them, and also so they they can become emotionally disturbed from never seeing their parents faces.
    • People should not go to the Sturgis motorcycle rally - you'll spread the virus. Just let your business go bankrupt and the government will put you on welfare - meanwhile I, St. Dr. Fauci, hasn't lost a paycheck or a single retirement point.
    • We Experts!!! though will be quiet as a church mouse about hundreds of people flying in on private gets to celebrate King Barry's birthday. He's a prime Party Member in Good Standing, and the CDC says nothing about those people.
    • We are also silent about the possible impact of 250,000 people a month running across the border, all from countries with miniscule vaccination rates, with up to 40% of them actually having the Wuhan. We realize that these are replacement voters for Americans who are not always reliable in their voting choices, and so should be welcomed into the country with open arms and no virus testing.
    • Things like liberty are overrated, and should be discarded, as our St. said: "Put aside all of these issues of concern about liberties and personal liberties and realize we have a common enemy and that common enemy is the virus."
    • We should go back to masks and lockdowns - since they didn't work last time, they're bound to this time, via the law of averages!
    • No matter how many times we're wrong, or have lied to you, you're a stupid Science Denier! if you don't listen to us now.
    • SCIENCE!!!

So I'm in London now, and after my beer buzz wore off my brain returned to the topic at hand. I've generally been ok with mask requirements and people obeying them. However, it occurred to me that we have good reason to believe that mask requirements will never go away. Here's why.

We flew from Charlotte, NC to London. As a condition of getting on the plane, every adult had to present proof of a negative Covid test that had to measure up to UK standards in the previous 72 hours, regardless of vaccination status. If any public setting is safe from Covid, this is it. Despite that, there was a vigorously enforced mask mandate for the duration of the flight. If an aircraft in which everyone has tested negative is too dangerous, then what scenario wouldn't be too dangerous? This sort of thing is how you get mask cynics.

The argument would be that you can be covid positive for (I think) 5-7 days before testing positive. So, that 72 hour testing thing doesn't mean much. Some will tell you that asymptomatic spread isn't a thing. I will say that contact tracing has established that, in fact, positive/no symptom patients can spread the disease.

And, I don't disagree with you that this breeds mask cynics. There is still little understanding of this in the general public. As an example, I went to k-12 with a guy who passed away unvaccinated yesterday. Everyone in his household had tested positive except for his 10 year old daughter. Since she wasn't having symptoms they let her go stay with her 80+ year old unvaccinated grandparents.

Governmental power, once given, especially if self-given, is almost always only removed via outside force.

Too easy otherwise for the Ruling Class to use it to keep the rubes in line, while ignoring it as they see fit - see Obama's birthday party.

And as for: "If an aircraft in which everyone has tested negative is too dangerous, then what scenario wouldn't be too dangerous?". If it's a private jet full of Democrats from Texas running away from doing their jobs.

In violation of Federal rules, those chumps didn't wear face huggers on their Escape to DC flight. See above comment about how the Ruling Class ignores all virus guidelines as they see fit, with zero repercussions.

Flying is obviously more dangerous and could cause more spreading than, most likely, unvaccinated illegals pouring over the border every day.

It would be wrong, and racialist, to do any contract tracing for an illegal alien who's Wuhan positive. Better to let them go, like Free Wily, and let nature take its course.

    True.
And the ‘have it but not test positive’, you meaning that you’ve got it but titer not high enough?
