by 1936 it had already changed as this is what it looked like right before the inaugural Cotton Bowl Jan. 1, 1937.

In that 6 year period the Hall Of State, the Esplanade, the automobile and electric building had been completed for the 1936 Texas Centennial. The 1/1/37 postcard of the Cotton Bowl has been heavily doctored, as the game between TCU and Marquette played to a generously announced crowd of 18,000 (30,000 capacity). The field had been worn down by the crowds on the Fair and the site of FDR's Packard driving down the ramp for an SRO campaign stop.

In my mind......it, like the Rose Bowl, is a dump.......but dear God many of my favorite moments in life have been at those two stadiums.
