I am somewhat confused about the seating vacancies in the South End Zone. Did they not sell the seats because of uncertainty of readiness for the season? And I missed the final attendance number for last night? There seemed to be more fans in the stands than on Ragin Cajun game. I love DKR at night!

Don't have an answer on the vacancies but I checked attendance numbers on Texassports.com

    LA game = 91,113
    Rice game = 91,978

I don't know for sure but I think they might be packing into the standing room area down below the seats. I checked for seating availability for both games there (just for fun) and it showed "no availability." I saw a picture somewhere of people standing at ground level. So maybe they're just not going to their seats. But maybe somebody else knows for certain.

I think the empty seats must be some sort of club seating that maybe hasn't sold yet. While looking for seats online, I saw one pair of tickets for sale in that area for over $1,000 each which about made me choke considering I could literally find free tickets + fees on stubhub.

The flashing neon Longhorn outline in the South Zone is growing on me. I thought it was goofy at first.

If there is any other option, who the hell wants to sit at ground level between the goal posts?

I'm OK with it, as long as it doesn't set off epileptic seizures in anyone who might be susceptible.

I thought it turned orange. All I saw all night was flashing white lights. Did I miss the orange?

    Vol,

You missed it. I only saw orange from my seats.

I may be the only one, but color me totally unimpressed. I think it looks like a cheap carnival promo.

I was surprised that I did not like it very much either, and it was definitely white from the NEz. I wondered if they would stop the blinking when play going on and seemed they did. I’d rather see it go from bottom to top in sequence and be larger and orange, than the blinking stuff. The tubes are too small for the orange background imo.

It could be useful when opponents are attempting a field goal towards the South.

First two games of 2019 had attendance of

    Louisiana Tech 93,418
    LSU 98,763

but were there less seats due to construction then?

I don't love the blinking. I think they'll improve operations over time.

The lit up concept I like, just not the blinking
