Any updates on Cyrus Gray? I've heard separated shoulder or broken collar bone. Ags also burned the redshirt on RB Randolph as his replacement for the game.
Sherman called it a bruised shoulder. Apparently he was fine after the game. No clue about why we burned randolphs redshirt. Makes no sense.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Texas A&M running back Cyrus Gray has a stress fracture in one of his shoulders and is listed as day-to-day heading into Thursday's game against rival Texas. Gray was injured in the first half of Texas A&M's 61-7 win over Kanas on Saturday. Coach Mike Sherman says Gray is wearing a sling, but might be able to play even if he doesn't practice this week. Gray has 1,045 yards rushing, his second consecutive 1,000-yard season. The Aggies are already without Christine Michael, who ran for 899 yards before suffering a season-ending knee injury on Nov. 5. If Gray can't play, the Aggies will have to rely on sophomore Ben Malena and freshman Will Randolph, who made his collegiate debut on Saturday. The Link
With TEXAS' run defense, it won't matter who they trot out there -- they won't get jack on the ground. Defensively, we only need to worry about shutting down their passing attack.
Second question: Any word on how Brown and Berg are doing? They both looked pretty solid on Saturday. I'm thinking we'll need at least 50 carries to have a shot at victory on Thursday.
Given the horrible field surface @ Mizzou and a RB's tendency to over-compensate when they're nicked up, I have no problems with Mack's decision not to play Brown or Bergeron. It was hard enough watching Fozzy tear his knee up, can you imagine the crap Mack would be catching if that happened to Malcolm Brown?
I call Bull Sh** on the "stress fracture" of Gray's shoulder. Bruised? Yeah, I buy that, but if he indeed has a "stress fracture" and plays then he will have a fractured shoulder after a few good slams. He's bruised up and will probably play. For those of you advocating Malcolm Brown playing with severe turf toe, let me take a hammer to your big toe a couple times and see if you can even walk. That turf toe crap is nasty. Injured hamstring and you want a running back to play through it? Yeah let's put him out there at 80% to let Linebackers have free shots on him. And, if I missed the sarcasm? Then never mind.
MaxPowers - I have no idea how Brown & Bergeron are doing, but they didn't look near 100% to me last Saturday.
el squared, I have emailed your last 2 posts to everyone I know. Funniest **** I've read about aggy in a while, and that's saying something! Let's just beat those sheep *******!!! Hook'em!!!
