I've wanted to get DNA testing done for so long, but never seriously looked into it. I've been thinking a lot lately about how misconstrued family history has probably gotten over the years. Ideally I'd love to know what Native American tribes I descended from, and what European blood I have in me. Has anyone ever had this done? I'm ready and willing to spend a pretty penny for a reliable and comprehensive analysis. Any pointers would be appreciated!
I don't have any experience with them but this is one company I've heard about on a few occasions. You might Google a bit to see what kind of reviews are out there. I don't really know what kind of ancestral info can be gathered from DNA. I'm interested to hear what you find out, it could be really interesting. https://www.23andme.com/
I was looking at that one and this one: https://genographic.nationalgeographic.com/ but I'm not sure I'm actually going to get the results I'm looking for. I know I have European blood in me, but I want to know what kind. I don't think they're that detailed. :/
I've had a friend take the test through Ancestry.com. He said it even helped him identify distant cousins. Not sure if he was serious or having fun with it. http://www.yonkerstribune.com/2015/07/weir-only-human-dna-dreams-by-bob-weir
