I read every review. If what was described and also seen in the photo's is actually what those places put out on a regular basis I would be embarrassed to be a pit master selling that garbage. I had an "off" day a little while back on a brisket and I didn't want to serve it to the group at my house. Texture was good as I like a truly "moist" brisket, but the flavor was way off to me. Everyone said it was awesome, but I got really offended by my own work. Those people are selling stuff I'm not sure I would want to give to my dogs.
Well, when something like that happens... Time to chop it up, smother it in sauce, and serve it on a bun.
I think Cousins is fine. There are better places in and around Ft Worth, but I don't see anything wrong with Cousins.
It’s been years because they always sucked but maybe it’s better now. But, dry, chewy, flavorless brisket is wrong.
Best thing Demeris has is their fries are best in town and their pulled pork BBQ sauce. When they were forced to move across 610 at Old Hempstead, most of the old crew retired. Last time I stopped by there (5-6 months ago), the brisket needed a chainsaw to cut it.
