If this is true is this a) nothing to worry about b) a violation of 4th amendment protections?

Was the Department of Homeland Security set up to help arrest farmers?

My sympathy for this farmer kinda stopped when his sons confronted law enforcement officers with guns. Why the hell would we tolerate North Dakota farmers or Idaho outdoorsmen keeping law enforcement officers at bay when they are performing their lawful duty? Drone usage to reduce the danger for people who respect the law made all kind of sense in this case.
I've never heard of anyone seizing stray cattle for a couple of days grazing. If you think you have some real damages, take the folks to small claims court, assuming you can't work things out over the fence.

Just guessing here, but anyone who confronts law enforcement officers with guns is likely a hard neighbor to work with. In rural Cooke County where I grew up neighbors had no problem working things out when cattle strayed. I've met a lot of North Dakotans and liked 'em all. Of course, I never met Rodney Brossart.
