That's a good thing, in my opinion. It was instituted with good intentions, but the results have been a real mess. You can argue the mid-season firings of Helton and other coaches were specifically related to having new names in place just so the early recruiting period wasn't missed.
Why not move it up to the end of July for those who want to concentrate on their senior season and keep the one in February?
I love the early signing. What I don’t like is the hat trick game that every recruit feels like he must do in Feb. Do you all remember Marsellus Bennett. That knucklehead that committed to Texas the whole time knowing he was going to A&M. My point is now the colleges know who is serious and who is playing games And allows other players to go to the school they really want to go to while some other *** clown is screwing around with the three hats in a box trick on the last day.
