Kansas at Air Force - prepare for a 20+ run game for the Falcons

Dallas Baptist at Texas Christian - Metroplex Church schools battle it out - fairly even matchup. Important game for both teams for seeding in the Regionals.

Okla St at Wichita State - a traditional powerhouse poses an upset threat for the Pokes

    OU at Oral Roberts :smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

Abilene Christian at Tech - a West Texas battle between the teetotalers and the heavy drinkers.

Incarnate Word at Baylor - Baylor looks to bounce back after being swept by UT

KSU at Nebraska - It may finally be warm enough up on the Northern Plains to have a decent baseball game. KSU hits for power (as we've seen :angry::angry::angry::angry:), but seems dependent on their home field advantage.

What is up with the Kansas schools scheduling REAL teams? They both need new ADs.

ACU never were teetotalers. While that's a myth that some of the Church of Christ leadership might wish to push, it was never true.

    GB,

For decades the joke was that the most dangerous stretch of road in Texas was Sunday from the Church of Christ to the country club, which was the only place that served alcohol in Taylor County.

Yep. And in Abilene on weekends it was a little incorporated town to the north named 'Impact'. It was the closest place to buy alcohol. And on the weekends the line of traffic stretched two miles back into Abilene. Just about every other car had an ACC parking sticker in the rear window.

Impact went all the way to the US Supreme Court before it was settled. Strange part is that neither Impact nor Buffalo Gap could sell cold beer, only room temperature.

Impact also led "famed" lawyer Joe Tonahill to incorporate a small section of Jasper County as a "city", vote it wet. The city chartered allowed for "only one" liquor store, and guess who owned it.

Tonahill lost the congressional race in 1948 (??) to Jack Brooks (actually he lost it over a game of checkers), and I don't believe he ever ran for public office again. When the FBI invaded Southeast Texas in the late 50s/early 60s, the government got 560 or 580 indictments, and ZERO convictions. All the defendants were represented by the same attorney, who would later be hired to defend Jack Ruby in the killing of Lee Harvey Oswald.

Guess who the defense lawyer was - hint: he graduated from The University of Texas.

Why spend money on costly bags of ice when CO2 fire extinguishers hung on the wall of the dorms?

I knew an ACU guy who said they used to ferment their own grape juice and other fruit juice in the dorms to make wine.

Don’t be thinking a sweep of KU is an automatic.

    This Weekend Series:

    :tech: AT :bu:

    :ksu: AT :ou:

    :wvu: AT :ku:

    :tcu: AT:fsu:

If Tech stumbles, it could sink them for the conference title. KSU doesn't play well on the road, and OU has been slowly climbing their way back to the solid middle of the pack. KU is fresh off spanking Air Force--which is not an easy task. I've long thought WV is a pretender. WV needs a sweep, and that may not be so easy to come by in Kansas. TCU is sitting on top the Big 12 standings, but this series at FSU could go a long way in determining the Frogs' regional seed and standings. FSU spent around 1/2 of the season camping out in the Top 25, so they're pretty good. A win in this series would do the Frogs a lot of good.

    Friday night results:

    Kansas beat WV :fire::fire::fire:

OU crushed KSU — the Sooners aren’t out of the conference title picture just yet.

FSU blanked TCU 10-0 — that one doesn’t look good for the Frogs’ resume.

    Tech beat Baylor

    Tech beats Baylor again

    WV over KU

TCU lost again to FSU—not the best look for the conference.

    Wichita State at :ksu:

:tech: at Abilene Christian -- this didn't go so well for the Red Raiders last time. Tech is in an awful slump.

    Tarleton at :bu:

    :ou:
at DBU -- this is some good scheduling by OU. OU has somehow battled their way back into contention.

    May 13 scores:

    OU 15 WVA 1
    Tech 7 Okie State 6
    Baylor 4 K-State 2
    TCU 15 KU 6

Horns sit at sixth in the Big XII, 1 game behind WVA, 2 behind TCU and 3 behind OU (all of whom Texas has tie brake over with series wins). In theory Texas has chance to climb as high as third but realistically TCU isnt going to lose last two against KU and its hard to see OU losing three games in its last five so it looks like the best shot is getting to fifth ahead of WVA. Those gut wrenching losses in Lubbock to start the year combined with the brain fart in Manhattan and the Sunday soul crusher against Okie State are really haunting a Texas team that would be tied for first place with those four wins.

TCU blew out KU for second straight day so the Horned Frogs sit at 15-8 and likely have clinched third. Either WVA gets its tenth loss today or OU also falls to nine losses with both teams a game ahead of the Horns. Next week OU plays Tech while WVA gets K State so swallow the bile and hope the Sooners win. That ties Texas with WVA and puts Horns in fifth just a game behind an OU team that will have three in Lubbock next weekend. There is good chance Tech is playong to win Big XII and that they take 2 or even 3 from the Sooners giving the Horns a great chance to climb to fourth if they can sweep a terrible KU team at home (and yes I know that is not a given by any means with this Texas team).

Going to speculate that 2 of the 3 losses against KSU and the soul crusher game will cost us 1st place and a super regional assuming we sweep Kansas. That would be 17-7.
