    what's a good price for this?

    i just failed my inspection with a P0441 evaporative emission control system incorrect purge flow obII code. now, i don't know what the f**k that means, but i've called a few places and the diagnostic seems to be in the area of $70. that seems steep just to find out what's wrong. is that a normal price?

    i want to get this fixed, but i don't have a **** ton of money to do it.

    I'm pretty sure at Autozone you can plug into the OBDII machine for free...

    OBD = On Board DIagnostics

    If you know the code then I'm not sure why you would need any other diagnostic thing...

    I think I got charged about $70 when I had it on my old truck a few months ago

    Often that code is generated when the gas cap is loose or defective. Either that or a vacuum hose leak. There are other reasons, but those are common causes. What year, make, model, and engine?

    Refine this search with your vehicle make and model.

    You have the code you don't need the diagnostics again.

    There are new do-it-yourself standalone OBD kiosks call SAM that I think cost $20. Check their website to find one. SAM(Smart Auto Mangement)

    I do seem to remember seeing a sign that advertised free engine diagnostics at AutoZone...
