I hate this sort of sentiment
It is fake. It is inaccurate. It is lazy.
The truth is that this very newspaper sat by and did nothing! on the Epstein matter for 10 years! (especially when the deal went down).
Why? Probably in deference to its preferred political side. Perhaps worse. Perhaps they were told to ignore it/drop it. And did what they were told. Such is the sad state of the media in the US.

It was not until after a pile of smart lawyers and independent free press types on the internet! made it a story does the Miami Herald now try to pile on this grassroots bandwagon.

They are disgusting. I hate them and what they have done to news reporting in the US.

And here is a story about the political donations from Epstein to Chuckles Schumer. No, not published by the NYT, heh

"Sen. Chuck Schumer — who called on Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta to resign and said President Trump should “answer” for his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein — accepted thousands of dollars in donations from the alleged pedophile throughout the 1990s, The Post has learned....."

And here is a story about Epstein and Hollywood
I wrote 3 years ago about a coverup amongst the media, Hollywood and the Dem Party of an underaged prostution ring. I was derided and told by internet posters not to believe every I read on the internet.
But now, finally, some of the MSM is catching up

" ......... Equally troubling are Epstein's long-cultivated relationships within Hollywood and New York media circles, where he moved with ease well after his high-profile 2008 conviction for soliciting prostitution from girls as young as 14.

After serving a 13-month sentence and a subsequent year of house arrest in Palm Beach, Florida, Epstein in late 2010 hosted a dinner party in honor of his friend Prince Andrew at his 71st Street mansion in New York. Among the 15 to 20 guests, the New York Post reported at the time, were Katie Couric, Charlie Rose, Woody Allen, Chelsea Handler and George Stephanopoulos. (A source close to Couric tells THR it was her first and last encounter with Epstein.) Lasagna was served, and Epstein led his guests on a tour of the house; he was wearing jeans and velvet Stubbs & Wootton slippers. Multiple sources say the event was organized by Siegal, who presented it as an opportunity to meet the prince at the largest single-family dwelling in New York City. Given that it was less than two months after Kate Middleton and Prince William's engagement, interest in the royals was running high. Multiple guests who now decline to speak on the record note that optics of attending such an event did not raise an eyebrow, in part because the invite came from Siegal. Siegal declined comment.

Even in the post-#MeToo era, Epstein, 66, frequently attended industry events, like the Gotham Awards in November 2017. Amid a climate where figures including Harvey Weinstein and CBS' Leslie Moonves had instantly become persona non grata for alleged misconduct, Epstein had been convicted and still enjoyed film-world access. As he traveled behind the velvet rope with ease, his alleged co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell was embraced. At the time of Epstein's conviction, Maxwell was not charged thanks to a highly controversial nonprosecutorial agreement.

Despite well-publicized claims that she wrangled teen girls for Epstein and partook in sexual abuse, Maxwell in recent years has been spotted at top-tier awards-season parties in New York and Los Angeles, where she hobnobbed with a pre- scandal Weinstein, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. She even attended the 2014 Vanity Fair Oscar bash, posing with the magazine's editor, Graydon Carter. (Writer Vicky Ward on July 8 accused him of neutering her 2003 profile of Epstein by cutting out on-the-record accusations by two sisters, one of whom was 16 at the time, who claimed Epstein sexually assaulted them. Carter stated recently that he did not "have confidence" in Ward's reporting.)

Epstein's little black book, which became part of the public record after his first arrest, contains a who's who of entertainment figures. In 2015, Gawker published the flight logs of Epstein's jet, which showed that Kevin Spacey, Chris Tucker and such powerful players as Bill Clinton and investor Ron Burkle took one flight to Africa. A source close to Burkle says he was invited by Clinton, assumed the ride was vetted and flew home on a commercial jet after finding Epstein to be "creepy." ......."

    This in spades.

Regardless of D or R, they should be punished to the fullest extent of the law if they were aware and did nothing.

LOL. You and the other TDS folks have moved on from accusing rivals of racism to now rape. Good luck with that. Worked so well with Kavanaugh

You just said it's ok because he stopped when it was brought to his attention. He was a 30+ year old DA at the time. You just created some weird justification for absolving Roy Moore's predatory behavior for what I assume is because he was a Republican. Thanks for reinforcing my premise that the only thing that matters is the letter after their name. You're practicing TDS but not the definition you are using.

You really are suffering from TDS. Never said it was okay. My point is that it is not an Epstein situation.

A main symptom of TDS by the way is mind reading, assuming the worst of your rivals.

    The original quote...

Notice you didn't say it was wrong giving tacit approval of the behavior. In fact, now you try to differentiate the pedophilia is if there are DEGREES of pedophiles. You continue to validate my premise of the hypocrisy of the extremists which was the test Mr. Deez intially proposed. You failed...miserably.

This is mind reading. You’re hallucinating an argument which is not mine. And, you continue to falsely accuse Moore of Epstein-like criminal charges just like Kavanaugh was falsely accused of behavior that some people from a similar privileged background did commit. Just like that kid from Covington, KY who was falsely accused because of a cropped video of his face.

They do, but at least I try to be above it. In your world you seem to relish it up to TDS level 10.

The pic is from Epstein Island, which is about all we got left post-scrub. The arrow guy closest to Clinton is George Nader- convicted on kiddie porn charges (guilty plea in the US), as well as 10 counts of sex acts with underage boys (served prison time in Europe). Do you feel better now or worse knowing about Bill Clinton's buddy in that pic at Epstein's Orgy Island? But wait, that's not all, this will also probably seem like fake news to you too because even I admit it does seem almost unbelievable but Nader was also a Mueller witness against Trump! What a small world these people travel in Mueller witness was convicted on child porn charge But, other than that, I am sure Nader's a great guy. Also perhaps worth noting is that Mueller was head of the FBI at the time the Epstein matter was referred to the feds and then unceremoniously kicked down the road.

Not surprisingly, Epstein's Wikipedia is being actively scrubbed as well.

Lastly, at least one pic escaped the scrub -- Bill on the "Lolita Express." She is supposed to 14.

Some Ann Coulter on Epstein -- "Get Acosta! But Get The Right Guy, Too"

" ........ It’s easy to forget, but Epstein’s arrest this week marks the third attempted prosecution of him for sex with underage girls.

It’s certainly been easy for the media to forget! In The New York Times’ version of events—and that of every other news outlet—the Palm Beach police discovered Epstein was paying minor girls from West Palm Beach for sex ... and then took the case straight to the FBI!

That seems odd: Why wouldn’t police bring their case to the local prosecutor, who was overseeing the investigation and issuing subpoenas?

    Because they did.

Unfortunately, the local prosecutor in this case was a sleazebag, activist Democrat named Barry Krischer.

When Krischer, then Palm Beach state attorney, found out the target was Epstein, a big Democratic donor, he refused to prosecute. It was only because of Krischer’s active obstruction of the case that the Palm Beach chief of police, Michael Reiter, begged the FBI to intervene.

Acosta may have buckled in the end, but at the time, he was a knight in shining armor rushing in after Krischer killed the case...."

I gave you the opportunity to fact check it, Joe. I wondered why you didn’t make a better choice, and simply use the google machine right in front of you. My first thought is that you’re just lazy.

And this isn’t the first time I have called you out for posting that Q fake news, so you should have figured and fact checked it. You didn’t. You doubled down. That’s not lazy.

Yes, Bill Clinton is pictured with a man named George Nader on a beach. In the Dominican Republic, not Epstein’s island in the USVI. Not the same George Nader as Mueller.

We can all be better, TraderJoe.
