I have ALWAYS held this view. Nothing but downside for us to play them. That being said, it is what it is and 12 team playoff is a bit of a safety valve in case we drop a game to these yahoos.

It's not that we just have aggie back, but the fact that they come with arky makes it near unbearable.
Then throw in the ever present OU (sucks) and this move to the SEC might not be all it is hyped up to be.

Of course, if we just go beat their A**es, it could turn out to be a very fulfilling year.

I'm just as indifferent as I always was. Their 1984-94 decade is always going to be overshadowed by cheating and how much they've sucked in every other 10-year period when we played them. They're basically a more-organized and well-funded Texas Tech.

It's forever going to be lose-lose when we play. If we win, no one cares and it doesn't help us out. And we still have to deal with Aggies the other 364 days in the year.

Not to mention Arkansas. They are perfectly content to be irrelevant most of the time, if they can only spoil a season of ours once in a while.

I am not quite old enough to remember the old SWC days when they were relevant to us, but from what I gather they were every bit as gross as aggy.

I'll take Sand Aggy or the pokes over either aggy or hawgs any day.

Same. I did not miss it.

This hiatus has also brought their weirdness into sharper relief to me.

Like having a crazy ex. When you were together their craziness was just a fact of life. After moving on and not having to deal with it, you realize just how unhinged she was.
 
I have always said - I dont like, but respect, OU; but I hate the aggies.

I was so happy when we ended our relationship with a dagger like like last minute field goal, and was thrilled we would never have to deal with their bizarre cult again.

They seem to think we're their biggest rival.

They must be 3rd or 4th on our rivalry list. Mostly irrelevant to UT.

I won't ramble beyond saying in "the good old days", if you had Texas license plates or were wearing Longhorn gear, they wouldn't serve you food in restaurants nor sell you gasoline.

Fortunately, my mother had cousins in Waldron, and some owned the Tastee Freeze in Waldron.

And your Longhorn decals and emblems on your vehicle would be defaced and they would make sure they damaged your paint and/or chrome in the process.
Let's not forget their players making the throat slash gesture after they won the bonfire game. Which was also the game where they got their hands on the coaches hotel room numbers and called them all night long. Plus the hotel "forgot" to feed them breakfast on game day.
But then they have the audacity to talk about their class and how aggys don't lie, cheat or steal.
If I never laid eyes on an aggy again that would be one too many.
Most classless a$$hats ever.

Yes, and VY was "Radio", and Colt was "Cart McCry" after the egregious late hits from whoever that POS aggie was. Forgot his name because he's a POS.

I was in an elevator in MDAnderson yesterday and an Aggie saw my Longhorn shirt and had to make one of his stupid comments and do the down horn sign. I told him I was sorry about being an Aggie and reminded hime that he was standing in the University of Texas.

Later on I passed one of these idiots in the hall and he said “we are going to get you this year”. I told my wife that is why we hate on these people. No matter where they are they just can’t let it go.

I always kind of figured that their 80s-90s "dominance" softened them a little towards seeing us as a normal rival instead of some sort of machine-run "Daddy" that kept them down in the dumps. Then the Bonfire game happened.

The lack of hospitality and camaraderie in the aftermath of tragedy was probably a low moment for my time at UT. I felt sorry for the handfuls of Ags that perpetrated the food "mishaps" and prank calls, but then all of the TV pundits were saying things like "the Aggies just needed this more after the Bonfire." You could tell that Mack Brown wasn't going to let that **** happen again for a while. Rolled off 6 straight W's, and it would have been more if it wasn't for the Cart McCry game and the inability to play Snead in 2006, or for his stubborn DC hire in 2007.

Sometimes it gets a little tiresome living rent-free in their heads. But we are up to the challenge.
 
To make aggy all the more intolerable is that in spite of all the lowlife ******** they pull, they think they’re the classiest fans in football.
And everyone hates them just misunderstands them.

If they throw manure on your band or threaten you cheerleaders with a Sabre, it’s “look what you made us do,”

My favorite episode of all time was goal post gate where that dimbass aggy politician said he was assaulted with binoculars by a tech fan. Only problem was it was another aggy who he had punched first.
So stupid. And so exemplary of aggy.
