    Thanks for that heads-up.

Boyd Nation has Texas at a pseudo-RPI of #5 as well.

    Boyd Nation's Pseudo RPI's

He says his Pseudo-RPI's are "An accurate simulation of the Ratings Power Index, the official NCAA measure of team quality used by the tournament selection committee."

And his Iterative Strength Ratings (which he maintains better take into account strength of schedule than the NCAA RPI) have Texas at #2:

    Boyd Nation's Iterative Strength Ratings

" Why are the ISR's needed?

While it's still a great game, college baseball suffers from the lack of an accurate rating system for measuring team quality. The traditional polls suffer from voters running on auto-pilot, and the RPI's used by the selection committee have some serious problems with the method used to determine strength of schedule. Because of the small amount of inter-regional play in the sport, some regions tend to be under-represented in the NCAA tournament, and mid-rank large conference teams tend to be unfairly excluded. Although trying to get the selection committee to acknowledge this may be a hopeless case, the ISR's are an attempt to find a better rating system."

We have beaten a number of well regarded teams... Win over Rice looks good for the computers....Hitting has been good for the last few weeks. I like this team. Big series with Baylor. Hook'em... [IMG]

Was listening to Craig Way discuss on radio broadcast during the Rice game how the Big 12 Conference has been pushing other teams to schedule for better RPI.

We obviously schedule non-conference well, but how will finishing the conference schedule affect RPI by the end of the season?
