There Shall Be a FOOTBALL SEASON at My House. <---(yes! that's a period)

 

As a 8-10 year old, I used to have one of those electric vibrating football games. I hand painted one team UT and the other Ohio State. It was very crude by today's game standards, but that was all we had.

 

Crude ?? Those things SUCKED by that age's standards !!!!!!!!

 

So did I, Worster. It was a pain to play a full game on one of those things. I don't know how many times my QB ran the wrong way for a safety, or just in circles.

 

Ok, it was grotesque by those day's or today's standards. I said, that was all we had.

 

I was wondering way too soon about who is going to start at QB next year:
Thompson
Card
JQJ
I'm thinking Thompson because he's been in the program. JQJ still needs recovery time? Card needs muscle and weight? All these QBs are quick, especially Thompson. But what if Card is the better passer of them all.

 

I’m wondering who the head coach will be next year.

 

I think it will be Thompson or Card.
Card is already in school and, of course, Thompson has the experience.
And Jackson semi blew out a knee so may not be up to speed.

Also a new OC mixes things up.
Would Sam have started over Shane if Sterlin Gilbert was still the OC?
I guess they all have a year to learn Yurcichs offense.
We are pretty stacked at the position.

 

I personally haven't seen enough of any of them to feel like I have an educated opinion, but Herman made a point after the bowl game to say that other coaches (not longhorn coaches) watching Thompson are impressed with him. I hope we can build some early leads in games to get him a little more playing time. It was nice seeing him on the field last year but I wish he had been able to pass a little more.

 

At this point, I've seen enough of Thompson to think he will get the nod. He certainly has more experience than Card. Card may be better than Thompson was as a true frosh and he probably does have a better arm. However, I think Thompson will have the edge going into the spring.

 

If it isn't Thompson I would look for him to go into the portal, and who can blame him?

If it is Card, JQJ's injury may have been fortuitous.

 

Me thinks it will be a heck of a fight between CT and Card for QB1.
