    Not looking for an attaboy, just a Horns up to the donors who support the TLSN tax-exempt mission to help qualifying former Longhorn student-athletes, support staff, managers, trainers, and their immediate family's who fall through society's safety nets. TLSN serves as a last resort for those qualifying for temporary financial assistance.

    On 1/27/2022, former Longhorn football players Tony Malouf and Billy Dale visited Angela Hall in Muleshoe, Texas, to assess her situation. TLSN grants require an interview and a due diligence process to confirm eligibility for assistance. TLSN's goal is to maximize a donors' heartfelt investment in TLSN's mission with a worthy dividend.
    Angela has a Facebook page and many friends.
    Fortunately, most former Longhorn student-athletes and support staff personnel have successfully transitioned to the job market and are living a blessed life journey. So a request for help from TLSN is rare. In fact, over the last decade, two organizations (LSG and TLSN) have qualified 11 for temporary financial assistance for amounts that varied between $8000 and $25,000.
    LSG (Longhorn Support Group) has helped 8 DKR players, and TLSN, since its formation in 2017, has qualified three Horns for assistance.
    The three grants under the auspices of TLSN helped:
    1) a former Longhorn student volleyball player with various expenses while her son fought Leukemia;
    2) a football player who lost all of his teeth during radiation treatment received financial assistance from both TLSN and LSG paying living expenses and purchasing implants to replace his lost teeth; and
    3) a football player in a tragic 1998 car accident is confined to a wheelchair for life, and he has spent a large portion of the last 20 plus years in and out of hospitals.
    For all three, TLSN acted as a last resort safety net.
    4) Angela Hall, wife of former Longhorn football player Eric Hall, will be the 4th authorized TLSN grant.
    Through no fault of her own, Angela and her two children have lived a nightmare existence since March of 2021. (Information on Eric Hall's situation is available via the internet.)
    As of 01/27/2022, Angela had no car, no phone, unpaid utilities, and an eviction notice.
    TLSN wrote a check for $4500 to pay Angela's back rent, and our organization will also pay her rent through April 2022. TLSN is in the process of restoring her utilities and phone service. In addition, TLSN will purchase new clothes for her children and groceries for the next three months.
