Think about this. By pretty much any standard Fran's recruiting while he's been at aggy has been an overall failure. Can you imagine what it would be like after the HS coaches, players and their parents discover that Fran will provide pillow about the players talk to high dollar donors? He'd be lucky to sign a 2 star punter from Harper. And I've gotta agree w/ the poster who theorized that this story is only breaking because one (or many) of the subscribers leaked this because they want Franny gone. This is UNBELIEVABLE. I'm really having trouble believing Byrne didn't know about this. If he really didn't, he should fire Fran today. Brent Z. is a good guy and a good writer. He went to A&M, wrote for the BCS Eagle for a while, and still lives in BCS while writing for the SAEN. He's not an Aggie homer, and he doesn't have an axe to grind.

Amazing the number of posters on TexAgs who don't think this is a big deal. I think worse than the craziness of releasing injury information to a select few is the talk about the shortcomings of players. How can Fran possibly walk into the locker room and face the WR's he called out, or the rest of the team for that matter? Can anyone imagine Mack (1) running down his players in a private newsletter, and (2) being so cheap as to have to tin cup alumni to fund a website when making > $2 million per year?

Not only could Fran be in trouble, but so could A&M. This could be seen as 'lack of institutional control'. Fran is providing insider information that is 1) illegal due to its medical nature and 2) could be used as an upper hand in gambling.

If he discussed academic situations, that would create a FERPA violation as well... This guy is in deep ****..
