I think it's hysterical! If you don't get what the sad, albeit funny message is about this video is about- let's not talk music.
It obviously delves deep into the raw unconscious raging and longing of modern nihilistic ennui manifested by the breakdown of traditional boundaries in the service of the isolated and abandoned ego. This is one of the finest examples of this genre of our time.
I did not get it at first and never heard of her or the song. But after a quick looksie into it I get it. I wish I didn't but I get it. O....M.....G. It rivals Lady Gargle Gargle's new video in views. It's in that realm of viral.
ths, in that video the MC says that one of the girls (the second one) has more talent than his little toe. I agree with that but not by much.
One of many funny parts is having a near 40 year old African American pop into this video, about 3x the age of the girls here, and rap about things that have almost nothing to do with the main theme of the song- which is days of the week and eating cereal. Oh- and sitting on a car, with a green screen behind you that shows you are going about 25 mph in a car, but your hair isn't flying back at all. Invest the $20 in a fan- to blow your hair back for this scene next time.
I am going to have to admit that I did sing a little chorus this morning, "It's Friday." Sort of like the best ad jingles, awful but catchy.
I got a good laugh out of it, but I do thinks it's rather cute. Yeah the lyrics are so dumb they're funny, but you can dance to it. For that reason I give it a 65 on the American Bandstand meter and salute the kid for her passion and courage to let it all hang out.
