Really good kick. Definitely not on Dicker that we lost. If Sam even just throws the ball away on our final offensive play, that might have made it.

Sam let us down today. Misses the long one to Smith on the previous possession. Misses the easy out pass to Smith, and takes the sack. Make any of those plays and we at least are going to OT. Tired of the brain dead play of these guys. Time for Tom to go and I'd do it now and not wait.

 

Piss poor coaching. Huge mistake not to kick the field goal to go up 7. Stop the madness and go get a great coach.

 

Hate to say it but Sam blew it at the end. Dicker could have used a few more yards.

 

Tommy Terrific has got to go. Really nothing else needs to be said.

 

This was needed. Just like the Kansas game for Charlie Strong. Painful, but necessary.

 

God wants Herman gone so he pushed the ball left.

 

You seem to have forgotten all the plays Sam did that kept UT winning.
Coaching decisions cost the players the game.

 

Sam played well most of the game but he had several big misses late including a poor throw and a poor decision on our last two plays.

 

To me this was a microcosm of the poor judgment and ineptitude of Tom Herman. Going for the fake punt was unwise, and not going through the field goal in the fourth quarter may have cost them the game. And frankly, it should cost Tom Herman his job.

 

All I can say is I was wrong. I thought it would take them 8 plays to go 69 yards for the winning TD. It took only 5. Adios, Mr. Herman. You can't talk your way out of this one.
Funny things is, I'm not even bothered by these performances anymore. I expect them.

 

Sam missed so many long balls in this game, especially in the 2nd half. Sr. should be able to make more of those throws. He needs to come back and work with a personal coach over the spring/summer or he has no chance to play in the pros.

 

At least Charlie had class.

 

Do your job, Del Conte. If you don't, this program is doomed to mediocrity for years to come.

 

None of that matters when at the end he couldn't just run for 5 yards.

 

The next-to-last offensive series was the problem. With a 4-point lead, you only needed 3 first downs to put it away. ISU didn't even have to burn a timeout. Same as the stupid next-to-last series as last year in Ames.

 

Purdy outplayed Sam today. No question about it.
Campbell outcoached TH today. No question about it.

 

Kids make mistakes but coaching brain farts over and over and over again is just unacceptable. Herman will always be who he is and that will never be more than mediocre at best and downright awful too often. The only good thing I can say about him is that he isn’t Charlie but that’s an awfully low bar.
