It's not that surprising that they matched Muschamp's salary. "Texas offensive coordinator Greg Davis will make $425,000 this coming season, the same salary as new defensive coordinator Will Muschamp." The Link
I spewed out all my vitriol after his first and second raises. I'm in the numb embrace of the 'acceptance' stage now.
Our offense averaged 37.2 points per game and put up enough points to keep us in just about every game. This without the services of Limas Sweed, Jmarcus Webb, Roy Watts, Matt Nader, and Dallas Griffin & Tony Hills for part of the season. Not to mention an interception prone QB and an inexperienced offensive line. I'd say Greg Davis had a good enough year to warrant a raise to match the other coordinator.
That's because most other Div I schools don't put 85000+, soon to be 9500+ in the stands every home game. Plus donations.
no way in hell the USC, blowU, LSU, or tOSU coordinators get paid this much. can sombody look that up? i'm lazy. part of his job is to coach the qb to not throw ints. but anyway, our offense wasn't that badass for him to be the highest paid coordinator in the entire country. alot of teams do a hell of a lot more with a hell of a lot less.
Well deserved in my opinion. F the haters. Major, Simms, VY, Colt. All solid QBs under Davis. That's two NFL starters (Before Simms' injury) and a college OC. That is not a bad resume for anyone. Queue the idiots who say Vince is God, Applewhite wrote his own plays in college, and Simms was never that good despite stats that differ. I find it funny that people still continue to think we have awesome QBs who overcome Davis instead of recognizing that Davis helps them become awesome.
wow. since when did GD earn so much respect on this board? damn'it Vince, you have blessed and cursed us!
Like Wade Phillips said and I'm ad libbing here - I'm all for the assistants getting as much as they can.
LSU's OC Crowton (a very good offensive mind) has been earning 400K the last 2 years. I dont know but assume he will get a small increase after winning the MNC.
I think he is a good QB coach, and I actually think he did a better job of play calling this year. I could see this coming, and I really don't have a problem with it.
lets take a look at these squads we'll give you kansas, they overachieved and had some great coaching this year. but... nevada, common opponent: nebraska nevada points scored, 10; texas points scored, 28 cincinnati, no common opponents houston, common opponent: tcu houston points scored, 13; texas points scored, 34 kentucky, no common opponents tulsa, common opponents: rice and oklahoma tulsa, points scored, 48 and 21; texas points scored, 58 and 21 navy, no common opponents
my how times have changed regarding the love for GD around here. Does anyone recall certain games vs. an opponent in the 2000-2004 period?
