I was reading something about the fall of the Alamo a day or so ago. It was detailing the origins and backgrounds of the defenders. It stated that one of cannons that the fighters had was manned by a 10 year old. It gave his name and I don't recall it. I'm a native Texan and took Texas history in schools as we do here in the greatest state. I never heard or read that before. Say what you want to, but people in those days were made of something different.

Was always an easy date for me to remember, Texas Independence Day and my late Father was born March 2 in Waco.

Proud to be a native Texan - and grateful to our forefathers for their sacrifice in 1836. :texasflag:

Happened to be in San Antonio on Saturday and at the Capital on Sunday. Both places were very cool with period actors, readings, etc. :texasflag::bevo:
