Uh oh. Johnny just can't get it together can he? Too much success too soon, I guess. I was a fan of Manziel when he was in HS. He had about 700 yards of offense against eventual state champ Steele his senior year. I hoped he'd wind up at UT, but we told one of the most dynamic QBs to ever come out of Texas HS that he'd have to play db if he wanted to come to Texas. He better watch out or he'll drink himself out of the NFL.
It's a sad state of affairs for him. He has a powerful disease running through him and I hope he continues to seek help.
He's a Grade A douchebag. Was in H.S. too. One can be a fan of the player, I suppose, but given who and what he is, not wise. He's a sociopath on many levels, an addict on all others. He has anger management, substance and mental issues. He's a ticking time bomb and all the people around him who have failed to see this and help him with it are partially to blame too. Instead they just got on for the party and good times. He will be a smudge in the history books unless things dramatically change for him. I made a post similar to this when he was a freshman in college. I think he wants to change. I think he tries to change. I think he has no support network he can rely on nor the ability now to stick with a plan, a healthy plan. If he continues his downward spiral I just hope he does not take anybody with him.
So I assume we're taking the girl's word for it who clearly sounds tipsy and even the bystander made a point to mention her state. Not defending Douchziel, but this wouldn't be the first time a girl was impaired and pitched a fit then shifted the blame. Without facts, I'd be careful assuming anything on this one.
This instance could be blown way out of proportion but it doesn't change what and who he is. If he gets his **** straight, day by day for the rest of his life it probably spares a life down the road. Odd how people often find themselves in certain situations. Sergio Kindle, you paying attention?
I agree 86% with this. There is the "Lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas " element--i.e. having a sloppy drunk crazy girlfriend prone to physicality and lying is bad judgment for a supposedly recovering alcoholic on his last chance.
"having a sloppy drunk crazy girlfriend is bad judgment for a supposedly recovering alcoholic on his last chance." -- this. Whether she is prone to lying is not proven. Whether she was drunk is.
My point was that EVEN IF he is only a "victim" of her lying--which I was acknowledging as possible or likely--he still would have to take responsibility for having chosen her as his companion. The other half of the possibility is that he is a straight up woman beater. (Rereading your post I see you already were agreeing...)
Like father, like son, like grandfather, like great grandfather . . . . Read all about this sociopathic family: http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/...-was-larger-than-life-long-before-4723092.php
I don't follow Johnny Football, but apparently he was partying in Austin over the weekend per this link.
you don't follow JM but you have a link to what he was doing last weekend......help me understand.......
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14215359/cleveland-browns-start-josh-mccown-johnny-manziel "OK Johnnie, I know we probably failed in communicating effectively with you, so let me clarify that when we heard "that's going to be an embarrassment to the organization", we assumed the standard was something that would embarrass the organization, not what would embarrass you."
but aggy wasn't embarrassed when he pulled the same stunts so why are the Browns? The young man is just confused.
If "partying" = embarrassment than I bet a large portion of the NFL embarrasses itself regularly, bye weeks or not.
No question of that, but a large portion of the NFL didn't spend an off-season in rehab after demonstrating that their lifestyle was impacting their performance. Oh wait... ok I retract that too.
