Just love to see Mr E Campbell as he prepares to demolish yet another LB, Corner or safety as he did so many times !!!

Is that Chris Gilbert at the top of same page?

I'm not sure who that is in the header image. Maybe someone else can ID him.

Kern Tipps truly was the greatest of all time, radio or television. Special thanks to Humble Oil & Refining for those great broadcasts.

Transistor radio close to the ear as Kern Tipps made you feel you were right in the action.
I also liked Lindsey Nelson on New Years Day broadcasting from the Cotton Bowl. But only when the Horns were playing.
    Good Times!!

    Kern Tips:

    "Right up Main Street"

TCU's "Mr Crutcha" He never referred to him as "Tommy Crutcher"

My personal favorite: "Makin blueberry muffins outa mud pies"

Wally: "Hondo Crouch pick up your mother at the Broken Spoke"

"The big score Slippery Rock ?? Shippenburg State ??"

Anyone else remember when the University flew the Slippery Rock cheerleaders in to cheer on the sideline with our cheerleaders?

    uta,

I don't remember the year, but Wally was the announcer, Hondo was still alive, and we got the Slippery Rock score every game. When Slippery Rock won, there was always a huge roar. Don't know whose idea it was, but The University had a game when Slippery Rock did not, and The University flew the Slippery Rock cheerleaders in, put them up in a hotel, arranged for them to go to parties, and had them with the Longhorn Cheerleaders on the sideline during the game. Deloss probably remembers when, but I'm sure Bill Little does.

If TexnSeattle is still around this board, I'm sure he knows the year.

I do remember when ABC announced the Slippery Rock score during Saturday games. I enjoyed it but never knew why they picked Slipper Rock vs ECU, etc.
