Clutch shot on broken play at end. Texas was a huge favorite and just couldn't ever get separation and put Louisville away. Not sure of that says more about this Texas team or Louisville. UConn tomorrow is a real measuring stick game for early in the season.

Abmas just nails at the end, hitting a tough defended shot. Props to Cunningham for his non-stop hustle at the end and to Shedrick who played a great game and had the defensive play to set up the last play.

Louisville looked better than expected, but the Horns need to shore up their defense on stopping drives to the basket. Horns had a bad day from three, only 2-17 so that makes a huge difference from what they had been doing and they won't win many games against better competition with that shooting percentage. Abmas was 2-10 but still hit that last shot.

I saw the last half and I don’t think the horns hit a three in the half— and every shot I saw was open. It was a very poor shooting night. They were fortunate to win. They played with energy and toughness and did well in the paint. The clutch shot to win by Abmas was terrific.
Horns should be fun to watch this year.
Horns could beat Uconn tomorrow if a few 3’s fall.

    Glad we got the W.

    Shedrick indeed made the day.

Yes, team played with energy and toughness. No doubt a credit to our prior coach.

Indeed. Shaka would be proud of the way our lads wore the burnt orange and white. (he's got his hands full now with his #4 ranked Marquette team, though...)

I thought RT got some transfers that could shoot. I guess I was wrong. Good thing he got Shedrick or this may be a long season.

Not very likely any more teams will shoot 30+ FT's and make 95% of them though.

They shot well prior to yesterday’s game. Despite poor shooting they found a way to win.

One poor night shooting from three does not mean that the team doesn't have shooters. They shot close to 60% from inside the arc. An encouraging development is that they didn't turn the ball over like in previous games.

Yeah, a really weird game. Skyy Clark from Lousiville was 0 for 8 from three for the year and hit 4 for 6 versus Texas. They shot well over their heads.
We only had 5 turnovers but shot an incredible 12% from three. 2 for bloody 17. Yikes.
Previous games we went 32/70 for 45.7% - pretty dang good.
