tough first inning for Tiarra. Misplayed foul ball that should have been an out resulted in the Lafayette player eventually getting a single. Then an error by our SS put that first hitter in scoring position. Horns down 1-0 after the top of the first.

Horns leave two stranded on third and second. At the end of one, Horns down 0-1.

nice 1-2-3 inning for Texas. Lindsey had an outstanding sprint and layout catch for an out that should be on ESPN. :hookem2:

dang, thought Kelli was safe at second, replay looks like she tagged the base before being touched by the defender. But called out and another Texas threat ends. Horns getting players in scoring position but unable to capitalize so far.

dang, Landry just hit a two run homer, making 3-0 Lafayette. Still no outs in the top of the third.

don't know if the strike zone has changed since the last game, possible with a new ump, but Tiarra is not as sharp in this game.

Horns have a lot of catching up to do going to the bottom of the third. Down 0-3. Looks like Lindsey will be up first.

Lindsey having a good game so far. Outstanding defensive play and now has gotten on base twice as leadoff hitter. The rest of the team, three hits but too scattered to contribute to runs.

once again, two left. I think that's five players left in scoring position by the Horns.

Texas gets out of the top of the fifth, down 0-4. Could have been much worse as Tiarra had two walks in the inning and Lafayette left the bases loaded. Horns need some runs as they are running out of innings to come back.

long double at the top of the sixth with Lindsey just missing the catch results in two runs coming in. Horns down 0-6. Looking pretty tough for a come back.

End of six, Horns down 0-7. Three popups in the inning for Texas. Looking bleak for the Horns.

Three outs left for the Horns, down 0-9.
Looks strongly like Texas will be playing today at four against the winner of the A&M-Boston University game.

It's over. Horns go down, 9-1.
Horns will play later this afternoon.
Time to wash this game off and get ready for the next one. :hookem:
