I’m on a flight so following from ESPN app. I see that the fouls differential is 21-11. Are we getting hosed, or are we just paying for overly tight D?
Well they have a 7'4" guy who is not a total stiff. Backed up by a 6 ft 10 in guy who is really good.
Tough matchup for just about anybody there. Yeah, he only has about a 7 inch vertical, but he moves without the ball well, use his size effectively, and can hit his FTs.
They have a big strong team that we haven’t matched up well all season. This the best I’ve seen Texas play against a team like this.
Can’t win games with defense alone. At some you gotta hit a shot or two. With our defense, it’s scary how good we would be if we had half a shooter.
This game has several interesting mini-stories within, but it basically comes down to: 1. We don't have anything to counter Williams. 2. Allen wasn't put in a position to succeed. 3. That damn 20-0 run. 4. We needed the depth of the bigs that transfered out (Hamm, Hepa, Baker, Mitchell, whoever else) to be able to compete and rack up fouls at the same time.
Not looking like great odds, but we're staying in striking distance. We seem just a tad short on firepower though.
