Recently the TLSN Board of Directors was recognized at the Houston Touchdown Club for its work in helping former qualifying Longhorn student-athletes who have fallen through society's safety net. TLSN is a Longhorn Sports historical site with a 501 (c) (3) compassionate component. Over the years TLSN has helped 11 former Longhorn student-athletes with either a gift or grant from $8,000 to $25,000. Tyres Dickson a member of Coach Mack Brown's first team is one who has received a grant from Texas Legacy Support Network. Tyres has been confined to a wheelchair since 1997 caused by a car accident returning to Austin to start football Spring training. Tyres attended this function and received a standing ovation.
