Office 2003, w/ exchange server. Outlook Help (ironic) tells me to go to "Tools" and simply click on the "Out of Office Assistant." But There's no such animal, even though we are on an exchange server. Can anyone help me out on this? Trying to help my manager get set for her vacation. Need brownie points!
that is how you do it on mine.... Outlook 2003. make sure you have the menu fully expanded when you click on tools. i sure you have checked that though.
****. Nevermind. Bossman told me it was an exchange server, apparently it's a POP. Am I going to have to write her a rule?
I think MS issued a security patch to disable this function. Try this: Open Outlook. Click on Help. Click on About Microsoft Outlook. Click on the Disabled Items entry. You will see a Disabled Items window open, with the following information within it: If you see "Addin: outex.dll (outex.dll)" listed, click on it to highlight it and then click on the Enable button. Then click on the Close button. Then click on the OK button to close the About Microsoft Office Outlook window. Restart Outlook. Just a guess... or try this: On the Tools menu, click Options. Click the Other tab, and then click Advanced Options. Click Add-In Manager. Select the option Exchange Extensions commands.
Here you go. The Link Make sure to scroll down to Method 2. Your boss will have to leave her pc on with Outlook open and set to check for new mail automatically. This will work, but not as well or as easy as it does with exchange.
