... compared to Michael Jordan when he went out for baseball?
I have no way to compare.
The skill level for MLB is incredible, hitting a curve ball, running down a fly, reacting to a hard-hit grounder, accurately throwing a ball 300 feet. Tebow has the speed, strength and reflexes to be a terrific baseball player. So do about a 500,000 other guys. I wish him well, but I'm not betting any money on him getting to AA.
He's a novelty act for publicity purposes.
Yes I think so. But I think MJ was, too. I just wondered how their baseball skills compared.
First, the two are apples to oranges comparison. Comparing their baseball skills would require that they have equal athletic skills.
MJ is an exceptional athlete while Tebow is an excellent athlete. I don't know why everyone thinks Tebow is a great athlete. IMHO, Tebow is a fantastic leader and motivator. That is why he succeeded in football. He has great determination and used his ability as an excellent athlete along with the leader/motivation skills to win. He demanded others around him to be excellent too.
