No one actually checks the veracity of previous predictions. I actually brought that up to a friend at work who believes AGW is going to be catastrophic. He just laughed and ignored the fact.
I'll never understand the buffoonery involved in climate change. Is it possible we have warmed the earth to a certain extent? I believe that's possible. However, the whole catastrophic aspect isn't supported by the history of the earth.
The whole cow fart debate got me wondering about cattle population in North America - since apparently slaughtering millions of cows is a key part of stopping Armaggedon or whatever. According to industry sources the actual head count is down from the its high of 45 million in 1975. Part of that is bigger cows - so maybe moremmuscle equals higher production of methane? Cow methane makes up about 2.5% of US greenhouse gas emissions. The issues isn't dealing with the most important factors of GHG emission. I think solar variation accounts for 95-99% of global temperature. I worry that we're slowly changing the ability of the earth to adapt. There is plenty of middle ground between "drill, baby, drill" and AOC. Being a international leader is important as well. Putting your head in the sand is as silly as putting it in your arse.
You think? Unfortunately many "climate scientists" are also "thinking" there is a problem. If they were scientists, they would actually analyze data and report that the data supports, or refutes the AGW hypothesis, or is inconclusive. Of course some of the prominent (infamous?) AGW proponents, like Michael Mann, have no problem inventing data where needed. Watts Up With That?

More and more I believe it is clear that AGW alarmism is a new form of pagan religion. You have to sacrifice to the Earth gods so that the rains come and the harvest is plentiful. If you don't they will punish you by withholding good things or bringing catastrophic events like floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. It is based on faith not science. There is climate science that is very interesting but the alarmism is religion.

Teslas are expensive death traps. A couple of weeks ago another person died after a wreck because it went up in flames and the door unlock didn't work. I don't know but I have learned a lot over the last few days. For one land surface has 10 times the effect on surface temperature than CO2. So global warming could be mostly manmade but the biggest effect is replacing dirt, trees, and grass with concrete and glass. And each time you double the CO2 concentration physics says that temperature should increase about 1.4C all other things being equal. The issue is, you can all guess, not all things are equal. And climate scientists really don't know exactly what factors there are and how they affect surface temperature. But climate scientists get government grants and positions of power and influence to tell everyone that CO2 is the primary factor of climate change. People have been there whole careers and reputations on it. Do you think they will be likely to admit fault if they ever find any?
Yeah it is fake science. The physics calculation actually shows that adding more CO2 effectively add 0 more heat to the atmosphere. Existing heat can move around into air, ground, or water but overall the amount of heat can't increase due to CO2. The IR spectrum which is absorbed by CO2 is already completely absorbed for what makes it into the atmosphere. From 350-400 ppm absorbs it all.
