We just need a 2nd computer in the house to supplement the desktop. Primarily just need something for internet access, and that's pretty much it. Looked at Mr. Notebook for used options. Any other recommendations appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I recommend an old ThinkPad like the T41,42, 43, or 61. All 14", rugged laptops. The problem with old laptops is their batteries are most likely spent. Inquire on whether the used laptop is equipped with a battery and if not do purchase one if you plan to use it away from AC power.
maybe a new netbook? I hear they are a bit underpowered, but that may not be an issue for casual web surfing.
