I say 100% yes, we need the practice and momentum, plus I want to watch the Horns in a Bowl over the Holidays

Absolutely. Any chance to practice and play, you always take it. Player and coaching experiences. Reps. Practice. Always enter the Arena.

ALL the players interviewd after the game said an enthusiastic yes to playing.
Sark of course was non committal
It looks like a long shot now though

    Columbia,

    Four weeks in the Spring
    Four weeks in August
    Summer weight training
    13 weeks of season

2-3 meaningless weeks of practice will NOT make this team one bit better come September, 2022.

Then there is the issue of it allowing certain people to stay around an extra 3-4 weeks.

If Texas does go, and I don’t think they will, I’d like to see another poll of just the “No” voters after the game to determine if they watched it.
A second “No” and I demand a signed document along with a notary stamp that includes a witness to corroborate the claim that the naysayer did indeed not watch a single play nor listen to it via the miracle of a wireless device.

I know we sometimes let our pride get in the way on here and say "I'd rather not play than go to some nothing bowl game against a marginal team," but I'd be really worried if we had a team that would rather end the season than get one more chance to play. If we don't have guys who love to play this game enough that they don't want to play whenever they can under whatever circumstances, then we probably don't have the right guys in the locker room.

Ultimately, more games mean more practice means more teaching. This team clearly needs that more than anything. I'd rather people make fun of us for being in a garbage bowl than make fun of us for not being in ANY bowl.

Damn if you do .. Damn if you don’t.

I voted 3rd option but changed my vote. Needs to be a focus on closing out this recruiting class; however, would be interesting to see who plays in the bowl game provided we’re offered and accept.

    NR,

If we go to a bowl, I'm sure I'll go unless it's really dipsh** like the Boise Bowl or the Pinstripe Bowl or some other unknown north of I-40.

The calculus is as follows for a bottom-feeder bowl.
    - PLUS POINTS indoors
    - MINUS POINTS outdoors and north of Dallas (actually maybe dial that back to around Waco... you can still get the lower half of Florida and Hawaii and a few other non-freezing places in there)

I had others, but in thinking about it, this is pretty much all that matters.

Have you been to the Bahamas in the last 30 years? Since the Mafia lost their contract to control the Port Authority, service is not only nonexistent, rudeness is the norm. Now move the bowl to Turks and that's a different story.

The only bowl this class deserves is the majestic bowl in austin. Losers stay home and watch winners on tv. Maybe they can learn how winners play by watching. Come on 5-7 and a bowl game.

Wow- I am very surprised how many people want the bowl game. NR, conversely to your challenge, I want a poll of all the people who say yes will actually put their money where there mouth is and support this team by traveling to see them play in the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit or the Camellia Bowl in Montgomery…

I say take the momentum of yesterday’s win into next year and coaches need to be pouring their blood, sweat and tears into recruiting. With the portal there is a lot of research that will need to put into which players can truly contribute here next year.

Closing the season out with a worthless bowl loss to someone like Toledo or Liberty would be devastating.

If a team is offered a bowl, it will accept. It doesn't matter what the collective group of maroons around here thinks.

Let's turn down a bowl game and sell that to recruits.

    Actually no I haven’t.
Interestingly, I do have a family Turks trip in 2023 on the books. Thanks, it was between Bahamas and Turks.

    LHABSOB,

I would love to go to any bowl the Horns are playing in. Unfortunately, my finances do not allow me to go. However, I think the more practice this team can get, the better off we are going to be.

I hope CDC is making a few calls to see to it that said bowl invite never sees the light of day.

For sure we should go to a bowl. Football should be fun, and we can improve our record. We shouldn’t be scared of anybody. If we are are scared, then we have the wrong coach/AD, and attitude.

Yep - any chance you get, you play. One more opportunity to suit up with your brothers. One more game of learning for the players and coaches. More practices and reps. No looking back with regrets or coulda/shoulda/woulda.

If it is offered, and it won’t be a glamorous bowl game, you take it and make the most of it. No scared here. Suit up. Bring it.

Going to the toilet bowl and losing is not going to get recruits either.

It seems it depends on the payout more than the practice. But I'm not the AD

That's how a coach wins over a locker room. "Guys we got a bowl invite but I figured we'd probably lose so I turned it down."

George Bailey No beans in my chili, thank you

The radio guys asked the players this question yesterday in the postgame interviews. All of them, without hesitation, said yes they wanted to play again if offered. It doesn't matter what any of us think, if the players want it then go play.

UT football has zip to do with the players, it’s all about our feelings and us being entertained. How dare you.

You just chose the penthouse at The Fairmont as opposed to a bad Motel 6 with no AC.
