"you can keep your health care plan." Yet Walgreens, Home Depot, UPS, and several other large companies have stopped offering health care plans for employees and/or family members. How will the administration spin this? The Republicans were very smart to force the Democrats to vote to fund Obamacare. This will come to a head during the 2014 mid-terms. There will be a lot of upset folks who will now understand that they were suckered.
I just hope most citizens realize what obozocare is going to do to them.......and it'll only get worse as more faults are exposed and more waivers to dem cronies are issued.
dillo is correct Most people do NOT know what is going to happen and the way the Dems and most media are NOT be truthful about the defund vote The Dallas MN headline was " Gov't moves closer to shutdown" which is funny considering the House voted to FUND gov't, the gov't the Dems are trying to say the GOP wants to shut down
Dems/Libs : " Lie big and lie often ". Enough of the low information people will believe it to achieve their goals.
Dems, libs and the MSM, and because of low-information voters, the latter is probably the most important. A good friend who is intelligent but does not watch much news recently referred to Benghazi as " When that video caused the attack."
People just don't associate Obama with all of the chaos and misery that he has caused. The guy never casts himself in the role of governing. He's always out campaigning and talking about "those folks in Washington" who just won't get out of his way. The low info people have made him a genius.
VHorn Too true last nights rant at the Cong Black caucus was pure campaign and embarrassing to the office of POTUS If he could have had my name he would have blamed me as well as every GOP he could think of
while I don't believe that these companies abandoning health care plans was part of the original strategy, I do believe it was a natural evolution of our system and probably better in the long run. UPS is not a healthcare company...the should not be in the health care business and more importantly it is stupid for them to assume the liabilities for employee health and especially the health of emp's after retirement. People need to be responsible for buying their own insurance. That's how we get to reasonable rates again. All that needs to happen now is a rating scheme like the bond market that allows consumers to understand and compare the specific attributes of each provider. Oh and the non-exclusion requirement is a needed element.
I was actually referring to the need for a rating scheme that allowed people to compare one health insurance against the other. Something that made the bundles of care fairly homogenous from one provider to the next. Basic/Well Care A=2 included visits to doc per year AA= 5 included AAA = 9 included Emergency Care A=10,000 deductible AA=6,000deductible AAA= 2,000 deductible It would mean that insurers would have to all cover the same things and provide the same services for the same rating. It would make insurers compete on price, administrative service and obtaining efficiencies. But YES, individuals should start being rated on how much individual risk they chose to take by virtue of lifestyle as well.
I want to see obama's response to this. Oh, yeah, he doesn't have one. Cavuto is absolutely correct in what he says. That is all.
The MSM continues to ignore that Obama was wrong about folks being keeping their health care coverage. Hardly any discussion of this on the Sunday talk shows. Truly pathetic.
This time last year I was paying close to $900 a month into the state pool for a high deductible insurance plan with BCBS. Now I am on medicare and love "socialist" medicine,
A lot of docs are dropping Medicare. Heard on msnbc the gov might require them to take Medicare and Medicaid patients. What a mess this is going to be.
A lot of that 42 milling could afford insurance but chose not to spend the money that way. There is a huge underground economy based on cash and most of those people are getting government benefits for food and healthcare. I work in a hospital and know several Drs. that lost money with their private practice and gave up and came to work for us. You make it sound like these 42 million are so poor they cant afford insurance. I don't know what the number is but it is no where near. the number stated.
Everybody "loves" free stuff. Unfortunately, someone else has to pay for it. Dependency on government is what buys democrats votes. The well will run dry eventually just like Greece.
greece running dry had more to do with peopleillegally not paying taxes than anything else. They are worse than rich mexicans in that respect
It'll be impossible to keep your original healthcare provider if there are no private insurance companies still in business. The intention of Obozocare is to put EVERYONE under the governments single payer plan. Insurance companies cannot afford to cover the crap that's being forced on them and will simply disappear.
I say again, my company does everything it can to keep employee costs down. My location's cost went from about $65,000 to $121,000 per MONTH (almost double) for 400 employees (not all are enrolled) even with slight employee cost increases. Who will pay for those increases in our costs? Anyone who thinks this plan is affordable for anyone is absolutely crazy!
