So if Ike does move up through Texas to the southwest of Austin, can we expect winds out of the east, then from the south as the storm moves northward? Just thinking ahead about the house and what sides need to be cleared.
pretty much, yeah. Although personally, the directons are irrevelant. Of more concern will be the duration, or sustained speeds. I'm trying to wrap my brain around the 4 mature pecans - three of which have large limbs either over the house, & over the cits' power drop from the pole... so I'm predicting downed limbs (big 'uns) on the house / power drop. Hoping the best for all involved... tokihorn
Plan for winds coming from all directions - it's too hard to say where they'll be coming from since the storm can veer in any direction of the city.
I guess it is just going to depend where Austin is on the "wheel" of the hurricane. If we're at 3 o'clock - southern winds ; 12 o'clock would bring easterly; 9 o'clock northerly winds. Correct?
