Iowa State shut down the vaunted Memphis State offense, ranked #2 in the country. Great job, BUT Memphis was without the architect of that offense, who will be guiding the Aggie offense from here on out.

Memphis State became Universirty of Memphis in 1994. Thus, they are referred to as “Memphis”. But, you’re showing your age!!!

 

It's a "city school". I'll always call it "Memphis State", just like it will always be "North Texas State", "Southwest Texas State". "Texas A&I". et al.

 

Ditto Sabre.... sorry guys. Add to that list East Texas State, West Texas State, Etc.

Re: the game, saw second half. Pleased ISU hung on to win. They had a good scrappy team that upset ou and TCU this season. Glad the Horns beat them before they peaked.

I have a business partner in Alabama who graduated from SWT. The school called him to ask if he would like to purchase a new diploma with a new school name on it. He asked if he could put any name on it. The person said "yes". He said, "Good, I want mine to say Harvard University".

LBJ was a grad of Southwest Texas State Teachers College.

aggy was agricultural & mechanical college of Texas in the beginning.

Before they became UTEP, the college was Texas School of Mines and later Texas Western.
