Well, it appears that the old girl may finally be on the verge of death. Their are rumors that they are going to be delisted from the NYSE.

As a photographer who spent many years with his hands in Dektol, D-76, stop bath, and fixer, this is a pretty sad thing for me.

Hmmm...what did them in? Are any other camera companies in trouble?

Minolta was purchased by Sony awhile back.

Kodak was done in by digital technology and its lack of investment into other businesses.

This was inevitable. Ibm was smart enough to get into the computer biz when they saw the writing on the wall. Kodak should have been partnering w/ leica, zeiss and Motorola to develop the camera of the future. Instead, they decided to milk dying technology for every last dime. In capitalism there are winners and losers. Kodak deserved to lose.

Kodak was dependent upon it's film sales to make money. Unfortunately for them, they invented the digital camera...
