LBS game

Hard to watch.

Roach is not getting better as the point.

He insists on driving into double and triple teams and throwing up prayers. It looks like Yancy is the best option we have, and not a great one. To much dribbling without even looking up to pass. How many times was he driving into the paint with all 5 LBS players in the paint with him and Mack all alone in the corner and Roach insisted on throwing up a prayer without even looking to pass.

 

We played very poorly. Felt more like the other team collapsed than we won it. We will have to VASTLY improve or Big 12 play will get nasty. We have a week to get ready for Arkansas. I hope we take advantage of it.

 

^^^No question. Someone has got to develop into a decent point guard. And Shaka needs to find some scheme to get more points in the paint. Cleare is better, which is good. Allen has the potential. But we are so inconsistent on the offensive end from 10 feet in. Cuts, slashes, drives, dishes, offensive rebounds, 2nd chances, etc all have to improve.

 

Shaka should go and check out some of the intramural leagues on campus. Who knows he might find an unknown gem of a point guard on one of those teams. Almost make me miss Dogus Balbay, but not necessarily for his abilities at point guard.
