Les kinda makes you scratch your head a little, but his remarks aren't even close to those of Bill Petersen, he of Florida State-Rice-Oiler infamy. Once he delivered the opening prayer to a game: "Now I lay me down to sleep...." Another one about discipline and respect during the playing of the national anthem: "I want all of you to stand on your helmets with the sideline under your arms..."
I went back and read a few more quotes from Less... I take back the Paulie Walnuts comparison. A number of years ago, there was a very lovely SI Swimsuit Edition regular, I think Kathy Ireland. She got a few little parts in movies, until they discovered that her acting skills were at a level where still photography was a better bet for her. What reminds me of Less is her statement on somebody's late night talk show, which I happened to hear. I believe they were discussing how much harder movies are than photo modeling, but she wanted her audience to know that photo shoots are not quite as simple as some of them seemed to believe (not verbatim, but close enough): "People think that swimsuit modeling is like rilly, rilly easy, but it's like you know not? Because sometimes it's like rilly rilly hot and you have to pretend you're rilly rilly cool, and sometimes it's like rilly rilly cold and you have to you know pretend you're like rilly rilly warm? And like sometimes you have to you know, hold up a fish?"
Or Mariah Carey's classic comment about starving Ethiopians (not verbatim, but close): "I mean, like, you know, I'd like to be skinny like that but I just can't stand all the, like, flies, and death, and stuff."
