Just started. An EPIC game, a classic. At night, in the 'shoe,.... such a SWEET VICTORY! I will always watch when this game is replayed...many of you were there in person!
I know, production value has come a long way in a short time. I like watching a 60’s game ... with the porn star staches on the players who look like they just rolled out of bed and the TVs commentary. Always wondering... what down is it, what’s the distance, score ... when it’s shown it’s the old scoreboard cam that always shakes.
So, 2005 was the last season where ESPN/ABC had the ability to shoot just one HD stream in a day (bandwidth was still crazy low for the uplink). Plus, all ESPN HD feeds were in 720 lines for those first couple years. How far we've come! It looks like they did some of the Thursday night games in HD too. I have no clue who got it that day, but it wasn't us. Looking at clips on YouTube, it doesn't appear that Mich/ND or LSU/ASU were shot in HD, although both were on that family of networks.
That's the first time I've been able to watch that game since it was played... in the Shoo... at night. I just knew we would lose because it was THE Ohio State... at night... in the Shoo.
I was there. tOSU fans are horrible. OU fans in Dallas are better though I'd wager OU fans in Norman are worse. Thank God we won.
It's strange how "sure" the refs were that the call was correct. Honestly, looking at it a bunch of times, I can see how the ball never really entered the plane as his whole body was OOB in the air, but for that side judge to just mark it so easily with little discussion was concerning.
That 2005 tOSU game had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. After the win, my body was drained and legs were wobbly. Took a few minutes for the fact that we won, on their turf, to sink in.
I was in Kuwait at the time. A large Army reserve unit from Ohio was at our base and we all watched the game in a large chow hall. That was the biggest collection of a-holes I've ever been around. I kinda figured that once you were able to leave Ohio, you'd stop being such a miserable SOB. I was wrong.
It was a street fight right down to the end! It was a team effort, but IMHO, Vince Young was the catalyst / biggest factor that WILLED that team to gut up and win that game.
a overlooked HUGE play was Jamal Charles running down AJ Hawk (?) after the pick ...........could have easily been a pick 6 but wasnt because of his hustle and speed.
